The birthday of the Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi was celebrated

The birthday of the Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi was celebrated at Sri Sarada Math on Saturday, 13th December, 2014 with due solemnity.  There was special puja, chandipath, homa etc. in the temple and Vedic chanting, bhajans, discourses on the Holy Mother etc. in the pandal.   Cooked prasad was distributed to about 8000.  In the afternoon there was a ladies’ meeting.

The Inaugural Function of Vivekananda Educational Complex (Matribhavan School of Nursing)

The ground floor of the Vivekananda Educational Complex (Matribhavan School of Nursing) at 29, Sree Mohan Lane was inaugurated by Revered President Mataji on 26th September, 2014. Revered Mataji offered arghya and performed arati.  Sannyasinis and devotees attended the function. There was special puja, homa and chandipath, after which prasad was distributed to all. There was also Ramnam Sankirtan.

The General Secretary inaugurated the new auditorium of the Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh

The General Secretary, Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission inaugurated the new auditorium of the Dirang centre on 13th October, 2014. On the same day, there was the first annual function of the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Girls’ School, Khasso, Dirang. Several dignitaries of the region were present. Devotees, parents of the students, monastic members and others, in all 300, attended the function. Prizes were given away to the students and a cultural programme was enacted on Swami Vivekananda and Jhansi ki Rani. There was also a performance of dances typical to Arunachal Pradesh which was highly appreciated by the audience. On 15th October, the General Secretary inaugurated the temporary prayer hall. There was puja, homa and chandipath, after which cooked Prasad was served to about 200 students, devotees and guests from nearby locations. On the 17th, Pravrajika Amalaprana, General Secretary laid the foundation stone for the prayer hall of the centre with due solemnity. There was puja along with chanting of vedic mantras. On the 19th, Pravrajika Amalaprana addressed a gathering of about 150 devotees at the Pandu Ramakrishna Ashrama in Guwahati. There were bhajans by the devotees and also other speakers.

 

A two-day convention for women and girls was held at Sri Sarada Math, Valsad on 22nd and 23rd November.

   

A two-day convention for women and girls was held at Sri Sarada Math, Valsad on 22nd and 23rd November. The Chief Minister, Sm. Anandiben Patel was the Guest of Honour. Pravrajika Amalaprana, General Secretary lit the ceremonial lamp along with Sm. Anandiben Patel who released the book ‘Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata’ in English, after which Pravrajika Amalaprana gave an inspiring talk on ‘Vivekananda’s Model of Human Development based on Vedantic Approaches’. In the afternoon, there was a cultural programme of classical dance, followed by a panel discussion. Topic: “I have a truth to preach, I, the child of God”. Moderator, Pravrajika Atandraprana, Assistant Secretary.  The panelists were Pravrajikas Ambarprana, Atmadeepaprana, Satyanishthaprana, Dr. Dakshaben Thakor and Sm. Sheetalben Vyas. The programme ended with a question-answer session.

   


In the evening, Pravrajika Amitaprana began with the keynote address on ‘Practical Vedanta – the panacea for national problems’. There were also other speakers. The function ended with traditional Garbas of Gujarat and other cultural  programmes.
On the 22nd, after the welcome address by Pravrajika Nikhilprana, President of Valsad Math. Pravrajika Amalaprana released two books ‘Prakash Na Panthe’ and ‘Know Your Country series-4, Gujarat and Punjab’, after which she gave the keynote address on ‘All power is within you; you can do anything and everything’. Pravrajika Atandraprana spoke on ‘Swami Vivekananda – A Living Voice’. There were also other speeches, a documentary on Mangalayaan and a power point presentation. The convention ended with tribal dances from Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

Eminent scientists from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, principals, doctors and devotees attended the convention along with 800 student-delegates from all over Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

Pravrajika Amalaprana addressed a gathering of about 250 devotees on 27th November in a devotee’s house in Rajkot and also on that day was requested to give a talk on the Radio about Sri Sarada Math - its history and activities.

On the occasion of Sister Nivedita’s birthday, 28th October, an exhibition was organized at 16, Bosepara lane, Baghbazar which was her residence.
