The Math and the Mission provide charitable medical services to the community under the supervision of competent Doctors and medicines are distributed free to the needy. Occasionally baby food and clothes are distributed free to children and mothers.

Surgery under the way at Matri Bhavan

The Matri Bhavan, Kolkata is a maternity hospital run by Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, now a modern 100 bedded medical centre treated 27,925 patients ( mother and children ) in its Outdoor Department and 2384 in the Indoor Department, out of which 8 patients were treated free; concessional rate: 373. Under Community Welfare Project, slum children are provided with clothes, medicines, milk and tiffin free along with education. The hospital runs a clinic for children of age group 1 month to 3 years with full immunization and a clinical and bio-chemical laboratory equipped with modern technology to ensure efficient and quick service. School of Nursing started in April 2007 with 30 students as a Public Private Partnership with the National Rural Health Mission (Govt. of West Bengal). It is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. Community Health Programmes are started, such as Public health awareness to the nearby slums, conducting Mobile medical clinics at socio-economically deprived area and conducting eye camps.

Sri Sarada Seva Kutir - Chennai

Sri Sarada Seva Kutir, in Chennai has a Charitable Clinic for women and children provided treatments for 57,848 patients who came from the city as well as from surrounding villages. Special eye Camps are conducted every month for the benefit of economically disadvantaged patients. Besides, the physiotherapy, ophthalmology and dental sections which treated 1180 patients, there are facilities for X-Rays, ECG and polio immunization. Pathological tests and other tests are done in the laboratory. Medicines worth Rs.5,76,222/- were distributed free. The homeopathic section treated 225 patients. Clothes as well as baby food were distributed among 1000 children as every year.


The Mission headquarters at Dakshineswar runs a Charitable Dispensary,Sevayan treated 3996 patients. The Nivedita Laboratory attached to it conducts routine examinations. The clinic is providing treatments in the fields of Dermatology, Dentistry, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology & General medicine. Eye camps are started on regular basis in collaboration with Priyamvada Birla Aravind Eye Hospital for the benefit of the needy people of the locality. Cataract operations etc. are performed with all care at minimum cost.

Yoga classes are conducted in many centers. All most all the centers conduct charitable dispensaries. The mobile dispensary of the Bhubaneswar Math served the surrounding area twice a week. The centres in Bangalore, Bhubanreswar, Almora and Shihore also conducted medical camps - Number of beneficiaries: 217, 282, 120 and 319 respectively. The Ramakrishna Sarada Mission C.I.T. Ashrama, Vivekananda Vidyabhavan and Sevangan of Siriti treated 5955, 1822 and 6758 patients respectively. Sri Sarada Math, Pune runs a Homeopathic Clinic. Medical Camps are often conducted at rural and remote locations for the benefit of underprivileged villagers. Nivedita School conducts medical camps monthly at Nivedita School premises under the auspices of the Purba Satberia Village Welfare Mission -treating 369 patients.
